guesswho Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 I've just recieved my PAM fidddy which I've been looking forward to for ages. After only 2 hours it wont work any more. It stopped and I can't wind the crown and more, it moves for like a millimeter then i feel some resistance which pushes it back. Has anyone else had a similar problem? If so, what was the cure? Thanks
chris5264 Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 could be lots of things, however you might want to check to see if the screws that hold the movement to the case haven't become loose. If one of these gets unscrewed, it can go anywhere in the movement and do all kinds of things.

It specialy likes to go under the balance and block the palet ... but it wouldn' stop the crown from winding though ...
reelamore Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 It specialy likes to go under the balance and block the palet ... but it wouldn' stop the crown from winding though ... The issue that The Zigmeister found doesn't affect the winding though. It sounds like the click spring slipped on the rachet click .It happened to me. Look at the largest gear in the back and when you wind it should go in one direction and hold if it turns one way then back the way other then thats it. This will require a watchsmith to fix if thats the case. Its easy to do but requires the correct tools and skill. If you gat it new from one of our trusted dealers they should take care of it. Good luck.

steely Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 I had the same problem. It was fully wound and did not run anymore. In my case the hands did touch eachother and could not turn anymore. Maybe it's just this - would be an easy fix.
