  1. Wow, many have gone through your gifted hands and eyes Ross! The only ones I ever see used in hommage project watches, are the Angelus signed ones for obvious reasons. If I were to pay high $$ for an alarm movt I would want the Angelus engraving to show through the caseback. Many people go through great pains to engrave the Rolex sig on the Cortebert bridge..
  2. Anyone ever seen one unmarked on bridge "ANGELUS"? I saw one today for the first time after having owned many ...any experts have any opinions/theories on why Angelus would produce these??
  3. R. If you adore that watch it must be special as I know your taste. I personally don't see a problem with it. I posted my 16520 Frankentona El Primero a while back and backed out after a higher offer than my asking price.Plus a loyal member here personally called me to tell me I was nuts. Whatcha got anyway?.. I'll have to go look at some past wristshot posts of yours and try to guess....
  4. OK, I'll ask it too...May I have this info too?
  5. Ahhhh, I always thought you were Irish. Great stuff R. I love it!
  6. Eddie Lee He was Tonya Yoshi on ioffer.com..the first Pam rep I ever bought a 111g...many, many more from him after and always perfect deals..He was amazing , I think he slept with his Blackberry, because no matter what time it was when I emailed him,I had a response in 5-10 minutes! He learned how to photograph watches on these forums (TRC).. Got pretty good too.
  7. I've been following these...go for it thats a great deal! When and if you tire of it I'll buy it from you at a profit.. Enjoy.
  8. Wonderful shots Ubi, your Granite never looked better... Nice Sub too!
  9. Best of luck with your project..you won't regret the effort..

    Mamma Mia

Takes a REAL man to admit this....I like the music too..very unique , and happy tunes.. My wife and I saw the musical on Broadway..a real treat and boy did we have flackbacks of the 70's.. We're taking our daughters next week to see the new movie..hope its as good as the stage! Your family will love it, its very very well done. Enjoy.
  11. Try the Watch Doctor on Waters Ave.. Old School Watchmaker that will service watches the right way...no swish and dunking here. Very reasonable prices too.. Good luck
  12. From the comments I've read here thus far it seems the white dials are lumed on the numerals.. I originally wanted the Black Themes but did not want to send it off for a relume, especially on this model. The silver datewheel plate is also correct and doesn't need that "fix" This is a big plus for me and am close to pulling the trigger on this one. Thanks Italiano for posting these great pics!!!Can't wait to see more... From the comments I've read here thus far it seems the white dials are lumed on the numerals.. 13. Sweet looking! How is the lume? Is there any on the numbers? Enjoy it...
  14. I disagree that I lost anything here.. I paid dearly last year for my Watchmaster Angelus based 6152 shown in the PICs below. The profit of this sale goes to offset the cost of my watch..so I don't need to make a watch, I have one already...And a very nice one at that...
  15. Well, I guess I sold it because I don't need it anymore and I wanted to pass it on to the next collector who hopes to build his own.I would have loved to post here , but its this kind of infighting that prohibits any kind of fair orderly trading, esp. with a movt with this kind of demand.Even on Ebay I recieved about 5 offers to end the auction from RWG members but chose to sell it fair and square, so I don't know what you mean by "sell it like he did"..Its common knowledge that most vintage members here scan the Bay daily to find these so I knew it would land on fertile soil. Most of you know who won it, A very respected member here.. I use my same name here as Ebay so I don't hide anything..and I sold this clock fair and square just like I purchased it..so whats the issue?
  16. NOTE TO NEWER MEMBERS.. I have recieved a couple of PMs and I don't want to confuse anyone here, and bombard UBI with PMs . When I stated that UBI helped I meant that he POSTED here MANY informative articles which I searched for and did my own thing...he has eveything you need to know here as well as others... He does not build , modify or consult to build these...he is very generous to post his experiences here and even answer questions via the forum..If you search for Daytona you will find all of them...try it its fun! Thanks, and good luck for those who pursue such a project!..
  17. THANKS Kruzer and everyone...I really love it and I would not have it if not for this forum...thats why I support it as much as I do, not to mention the members like Randy who freely give so so much. A BIG THANK YOU TO UBI! I REALLY LOVE MY WATCH...and my wife... PEACE
  18. It took about 5 months to gather all the parts and put it all together , but it was worth it.. Thanks to UBI for all his help and answers to my dumb questions..and also the motivation and encouragement!! Here it is: Gen case ( I was told)..Bezel looks aftermarket. Gen MarkV dial and hands.. Gen Bracelet 31 Jewel El Primero from a Movado Datron..Rotor or bridge were not changed... BTW, I am VERY impressed with the movt..its one GEM... What do you guys think?
  19. You are clueless if you consider for a moment that you can figure out God with the gray matter between your ears. The difference between a fish brain and the human brain is a finite value, and when one is caught and brought into the boat , do you expect the fish to know who or what you are? Or if you point its eyes to a can of Pepsi, does it know what carbonation is, or aluminum?.. Come on..how much more superior is the mind of God to us..and we are logically trying to figure his existence out? It is IMPOSSIBLE to figure out God with the natural mind, as he is spirit. Finding God requires a sincere desire to know the truth and seek him through his inspired word, which is the Bible. This is where you will find him..or not. We were all given a free will to decide..and we will all be judged before him someday. The blood of Christ redeems those who listen and HEAR his voice. You Carl Sagan's out there have too much interference to hear the silent cry of your savior. And your own wisdom of secular thought condemns you to justify your position. Science will not save you, or explain who you are, or satisfy the void within all of us... Its funny you atheists are the first to start praying and crying out to God when faced with a crisis. like cruising at 30,000 feet in a 747 and taking a nose dive after losing an engine,. or faced with death on the bed...I pray that you all find him and have a knowledge of the truth...its a sad day to die without knowing God. I know there is a God, because in my 50 years he has listened to my prayers and I have seen his hand work in my life. Through thick and thin he has been there for me, and I would not be typing this if not for him. Pugwash, read some of C.S Lewis
  20. Very nice Marco! Nice Cortebert movt...good job.
