  1. Kruzer, Yes,I know of the past issues..he has been at this for months trying to perfect them..I think he went through 4 runs before he got this last batch right.the printer kept screwing thim up...this is a recent batch as of last week...I won't have time till next week to do this so maybe Lello can address this ..he has a post at RWGuide but I don't think he is a member here..yet. He assured me they were perfect this time... I emailed him to post some info here...
  2. Hey Mark, Thanks for the info on the 2892..I have a 063 and I'm installing it there..,a 2893.. I assumed it would work on a 92 also...you're amazing to remember all these details! Been waiting for this since before you started your project..I think since March.. He's had a string of bad luck from his printer etc..and I finally got one. I'll post some pics when I'm done... Cheers
  3. I know Finepix has these cooking , but when and if he runs out another source here.. Lello has a few of these available so if anyone needs one keep your eyes open for his post. He only has a few...I spoke with him today and he'll be posting his info.. He's been gone for a few months so he may have to register here, with all the changes.. Just got this in and will install soon.
  4. Ubi, You paid cash for that nice granite countertop?..I'm impressed. If you've gotton by this long without a CC then chances are you'll not abuse one...try your local bank where you are established (I assume you have a checking acct.. ) and get a low interest one, at your beacon score it should only take a phone call.. Most financial advisors will tell you to use credit for larger purchases like houses (tax deductible) and cars (home equity line)..and you should pay off CCs balance at the end of each month..but like me most don't. I have about 7 credit cards... All linked to Pay Pal.. There a three kinds of people. The haves The have nots The haves but not paid for yet Good Luck!
  5. Niel your photo skills never cease to amaze me.. This looks fantastic!..Gotta have one of these...hope you have enough to go around. This is Great news for us vintage junkies..
  6. Nice collection!..I love the Bunn Special..I've been looking for a deal..but not lucky yet. You know that Howard was one of the partners that started the Waltham co. in 1851. Howard went on to go on his own and his watches were very high qaulity is his day! I have a soft heart for these too and always will... Here's one of my Walthams..notice the regulator...and it has faceted diamond endstones for the balance pivots..
  7. Well, looks like it was built in 1891 by the serial # and the movt is a model 1890 size 6 ladies pocket... I can't determine the Gold being solid or filled but that would determine the value. The atomic bomb looking symbol is the halmark but my book doesn't show that. A good Watchsmith will let you know. It looks as though its gonna be more sentimental value than anything though..which is the best kind! An old Joe once told me when his Pocket stopped he'd squirt in some lighter fuel and let it dry.. it worked like a charm for a few years till he did a repeat..(don't try this at home!!) Seriously, its worth the cleaning.....get it ticking again! Good Luck!
  8. This PW looks like good one to repair esp if its solid gold case.Post a better pic of the hallmarks (engravings) inside the case and I can tell you.If you post the movement I can give you some details on that too. The stopping of the clock is normal for a watch this old..looks to be almost 80-90 years old..it most likely just requires a good old cleaning and lubrication service. The oil drys up and dirt gets in the gears and parts and the watch just stops.. Find a good local watchsmith..or HERE Walthams are VERY collectable and high quality.. parts are readily available and anything can be repaired on these. I get mine cleaned for around $75.00.. Hope this helps.. And yes keep this in the family..too many sell them, but this IMHO is worth holding on too..these were held dear to the owners in the day and handled daily..a very personal item..
  9. Speechless...you da man..Ubi
  10. Use a heavy duty razor blade, like the one you scrap paint etc off a car windshield..and wedge it underneath the bezel and twist carefully..there should be a plastic washer under also.. Be careful...
  11. pugwash, HAPPY BD...old fart...you showed me how to take good pics and I'm eternally grateful.. How old are you? Crusty yet??
  12. Ubi, This is indeed a gut wrenching hobby which puts at odds our since for preservation of good Gen examples against our desire for a great rep. This is a Concord that has a great look and stands alone for a work of art. Not on the Zenith level but nevertheless a gem. But , how do you find a El Primero without it being in a decent watch? I LOVE YOUR WATCH..WANT TO SELL?
  13. Nice work Kevin! I especially like the work on the numerals...syringe job?
  14. Ubi, This is by far my favorite franken , you did a great job and lucky you found a gen case.. Do you have any comments on MBW's E Primero case kit.? I have a EP410 based watch....will this cal work? Thanks
  15. I empathize with you..with EMS my tracking is almost never accurate..sometimes indicating that the item is still in UK and then get it in the mail the same day in US! All you can do is wait . Track , track, tracking.....Where's my frickin Watch! .really..and if you do get a letter from customs contact the dealer..
  16. I heard good things about these...a hybrid of solid state and legacy tube technology.. Did you buy direct from Red Rose or do you have a good source for a discount? BTW..enjoy those vibes!
  17. To my eye this has exquisite beauty..and is rare to boot. The 203 is a hommage to a watch that was made in the 30's to be used as a military tool and not show pieces..like Patek's and such.. I respect your opinion but you're the first I've heard with that comment. Most avid Pam lovers rate this movt as # 1 as I do, its simplicity and rock solid design is second to none, not to mention the 8 day power reserve. Its also a classic mvt used in the original 6152/1..the holy grail to some of us...and to some fortunate wealthy collector..a Picasso. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder..
  18. Niel, If and when you have these for sale I would take one...or two...GORGEOUS Knife! Let me know...
  19. They go for around $1250.00 ..I've been tracking them for a while.Just sold mine because these are so beautiful I didn't have the heart to cannibalize it so decided to go with a 620 Cortebert movement..
  20. Yes he told me the same thing..34mm, but I have seen them use a 592r.. I see that it has to go in from the top.. I would feel better with a 16 though to do it right..The 618,620 are availible but I have never seen a 616 yet..
  21. 34mm will fit in a WM 47 case only 45mm case it will not. You need a metal spacer or rubber O-ring to keep the mvt set. Also the hands and dial will need to be custom/modded.
  22. The issue that The Zigmeister found doesn't affect the winding though. It sounds like the click spring slipped on the rachet click .It happened to me. Look at the largest gear in the back and when you wind it should go in one direction and hold if it turns one way then back the way other then thats it. This will require a watchsmith to fix if thats the case. Its easy to do but requires the correct tools and skill. If you gat it new from one of our trusted dealers they should take care of it. Good luck.
  23. @finepics I think you're on to something.I found this older ETA 6497 and it has the pallet [censored] and older dial screws. New old stock?
  24. The Zigmeister, So the concensus is: #1 These are NOT ETA Swiss movts? #2 Even if they are working they are timebombs destined to fail anytime? #3 Should be serviced or replaced even if working OK out of box? Thank you for your most informative comprehensive post.
