Just wondering. I can't find a GTG section and search for "GTG" found nothing. Also, I was unable to submit a Shoutbox message to ask.

Jeremiah, There are at least four good watchsmiths in Houston who provide service to our members' watches. Which is good for you may simply depend on where you live in Houston and in which part of the city is a conveniently located watchsmith. I use the watchsmith at The Masters's Workshop, 1410 Blalock, 714.468.1472. They have always been very competent and reasonable. I have never asked them to waterproof a watch, however; so I don't kniow their capacity to do that specific thing for you. I know there is another in the Sharpstown area and another in the Galleria area, but I don't have the specifics on those folks. Come see us at our next GTG in Houston. If you haven't sorted out a watch repair service supplier by them, several members at the GTG will be able to provide you alternatives. Best wishes and good luck.

Be sure you do not put glue at the joint where the bezel rotates or you will have a niceinsert in a bezel that no longer rotates. Put glue only to the outside edge of the insert.

I can tell you about one at about Blalock and WestView ... West side, north of I10, but not far Northwest. Let us know if your are interested in this one, if someone does not come forward with one at a better location for you. You were not at our GTG a few weeks ago? Too bad. Maybe you can make the next one, in April.

ForcedHorse, Welcome! Glad to see another member from the Houston Area. The Houston members just had a gathering this past Saturday, at the Black Labrador on Montrose. A good time was had by all. We had 11 members attend, plus two wives and three kids. We all had a great time! Those who attended came from RWG, RWI, AND RepGeek. I am astounded at the watch knowledge and wisdom that gets collected into one room when these folks get together! I learn sooo much. There seemed to be a consensus that we should hold Houston meetings about once a quarter. On that basis we will meet again about mid-April. I think we have some pictures that will get posted shortly. Not on this one ... maybe it is not an ETA mvt. However looks just like the ones on the ETA website. In any case the center hub of the rotor bearing (with ball bearings, like the one in KBH's photo) does not have a srew in the center and no screw hole. I did take the back off one of my other rolexes which is also supposed to be an ETA mvt and observed that was just like the Sub I was working on. I think I have fixed it anyway. Clear nail polish. I used clear nail polish on the edges of the rotor hole - which fits over the rotor bearing hub - and a couple of droplets applied by toothpick at the junction of the rotor and the rotor bearing hub. Seems to be holding okay for now. Sorry, I don't have a digital camera of sufficient quality to take a pix of the watch to post. Certainly one of the items high on my "to get" list. I have looked at the online pictures at ETA.ch of these movements. I see no screw in the middle to retain the rotor ... and no screw around the rotor bearing hub that might retain the rotor. I do see a screw in the middle on DG2813 asian movements and all of the asian self-winding mechanicals, but not on the ETA movements. Am I incorrect? I would have thought there was some sort of screwed retaining mechanism on the ETAs but I dont see it either on the movement I have in hand nor in illustrations online.
