EDIT: I meant the opposite of widening...

Hi,

I would greatly appreciate an answer as to wether it is likely that a watchsmith can -in lack of a better word- shrink the holes of hands like this:

Shrink minute-hand hole from 1.00 mm to 0.9. mm

Shrink hour-hand hole from 1.90 to 1.50 mm

...I suppose it takes more than a pair of tweezers? Or?

here are the hands

Thanks for any input,

kind regards,

MG

The ideal method would be to use a collet, but if you crimp the tube just enough and equally all around, you can reduce the size using a pin vise, tweezers, etc. Just an FYI, crimping hands in this fashion can crack the tubes if you're not careful. In addition, the hands may be prone to slipping as well...

The best tool for the job is probably the Bergeon 3010 but it is NOT cheap :D

The other option would be a staking tool set as FxrAndy mentioned.
