mossanti
so how much did you guys spent to become almost like the GEN ? If im nnot mistaken the GEN sell for $4-5K USD for second hands. How is the total price compare to the second hand ?
hooky
Nice, but a very nice HKTAN for around 130-140usd with real croc also will do. At least for me, I am sporting that kind of strap on my modded Portu Chrono.

susumon54
Yep! All portu owners definitely need the gen strap' It is a huge dufference in quality, feel, durability and most importantly being called out because of it...
chad
It is pretty common knowledge that iwc oem straps are sub par, especially the latest ones in the past few years. The new big pilot straps are terrible.. Crooked stitching and rivets etc. The 3717 owner complain about how thin and flimsy the croc is that comes with it. The ingy gen kelvar comes apart as fast as the rep one. Makers like ABP, simona etc are around the same price and 4x times the quality. You would go with this over a GEN dial anytime? I hope you are joking P.S. The strap in the photo does look nice on the watch but ordering a custom from ABP would destroy it.
mbjoer
Straps are really hard to capture on a picture. However I would be really interested to see a comparison between the Gen and other options such as HKTan or The Watch boys. Pictures as well as description of differences would be great. There is no doubt that the straps provided by the rep-factories with the watches are crap. But the other ones are not. So what are the differences, and to what extent are the price differences justified?
