eddog Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 Greetings... I've had this project in the works for a while,Inspired (mainly because i'm a rolex big crown junkie) by a watch i saw a ways back that i found particularly attractive with it's matte sandblasted case. I was lucky enough to track down a partially modded project watch of 6154 Little Egi panerai (before i even knew what a Little Egi was, i might add....) I actually got it pretty much as is, save for the modded crown, and the Aluminum oxide blasted case, as inspired by the photo i found, So I have never really hunkered down and tried to figure out what was what with this watch... Maybe you can help here it is... I'm assuming it's a DSN case with Molinja 3602 (thus the center jewel) The dial is a sandwich dial, with a beautiful rusty/radium patina and the hands have been modded by me by way of the "Illy" method There is a thick solid caseback as well, but i kept it off to show the movement, which has obviously had it's fair share of modding as well. As I know this is far from "perfect" and not totally accurate, I'd love your general opinions and suggestions about what might be done to tweak it a little further than it's current state. Let me know what you think... Thanks for looking, hope you enjoy!!! Eddog
donerix Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 I heard of some "Russian" versions out there. I have a 4-Liner that looked very similar when I got it. But now that U read it again and saw that it has a solid snap-on caseback I would say it's a Silix case (not sure about the area around the crown though, maybe it was modded) .... I really like the blasted look...
hiker01 Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 I'm not an expert, but in my research of the 6154, the case are all in SS, like this: I have seen different variations of the dial though: The dial you're using is more of the Panerai 3646. Hope this helps! I'm also in the same quest as you are! donerix is quite humble, but I consider him an expert on the Vintage PAMs! Goodluck with your project!
