Thanks Best regard T I think gen tube and crown are too expensive and do not improve the rep... I am going to try a different approach for Omega UPO... if I succed I will publish the results and probably we can use for this Omega. Let me a couple of weeks.. regards, Francisco
torjus Posted April 7, 2010 Author Report Posted April 7, 2010 ok, thanks francisco i am looking forward to it! read some of your work, and it`s amazing!
patinga Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 The crown and tube aren't that expensive. You can get them from Ofrei.
bosk Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 The crown and tube aren't that expensive. You can get them Ofrei. I think around $50 for tube and crown. It is a very easy mod. Threads are on the inside of the tube for the hen...a huge tale of most rep SMPs.
Francisco Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 I think I have found a compatible tube for only 5 euros. And it is much easier to swap...and you do not need to fit the (or a new stem) stem in a new crown..etc... I am waiting for the new tube. If I succeed I will post a tuto. Regards, Frasncisco

torjus Posted April 12, 2010 Author Report Posted April 12, 2010 Nice I can`t wait, never done a mod before, but i think it looks so cool when people here post their latest mods so why not try, everybody has to start some place
DemonSlayer Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 This sounds very interesting Francisco. It would be great to be able to fix the tube issue for a fraction of the cost of going to the gen crown & tube route.

It seems the size is the same... so a direct fit...hopefully.
torjus Posted April 14, 2010 Author Report Posted April 14, 2010 is the tube/crown fix a complicated job to do? or do do you think a first timer like me could pull it off?
DemonSlayer Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 As long as you have no problem de-casing the movement, it shouldn't be too difficult. However I have read that occasionally the tube is so tightly fixed to the case that you have to drill it out. Also, you have to be careful when removing the stem from the rep crown, if you're not careful you can break the stem.
