cougaree Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 hi guys, Has anybody done comparisons between the Breitling datewheel font and Swiss ETA 7750 font? I am really having hard time finding a datewheel with correct Breitling font for my two tone BCE. I've checked with couple of dealers already, none of them can source one for me, so I figure if they are similar, I will just go order one to replace my A7750 native datewheel. The A7750 movement takes Swiss 7750 datewheel right? Thanks!
andreww Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Breitling uses their own custom font on datewheels. The best and cheapest method for getting the proper datefont would be to look for a used Skyland V3 at a decent price, swap the datewheels, then resell the Skyland.
polexpete Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Pity the poor bugger who buys the Skyland with the wrong datefont
cougaree Posted April 12, 2010 Author Report Posted April 12, 2010 Yeah, it kind of does make me feel bad when I destroy one watch to fix another though. If the ETA font is more close to Breitling font than the Asian 7750, then I can just go buy an ETA date wheel on the cheap. This is the ETA date wheel I'm looking at.
bwhitesox Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Compared to the Breitling font below the big difference are the single digits that fill out the date window.
cougaree Posted April 12, 2010 Author Report Posted April 12, 2010 Picture worth thousand words. Thank you very much!

Bike Mike Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 What looks funny is "1" on the actual DW, is not even the same between 31, 1, 10...etc.
bwhitesox Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 Looks like an asian datewheel to me not an ETA one.
cougaree Posted April 13, 2010 Author Report Posted April 13, 2010 I've checked few places. Apparently, gen ETA date wheels are like that for some reason.
RealReplica Posted April 15, 2010 Report Posted April 15, 2010 Compared to the Breitling font below the big difference are the single digits that fill out the date window. Hmmmm where did you get this wheel from? Now get me a Navitimer one pretty please!
bwhitesox Posted April 15, 2010 Report Posted April 15, 2010 This one is good for the 6-9-12 subdial navi as for the newer model good luck with that quest
