jfreeman420
Is it some sort of backlight for photography?
FxrAndy
Let's have your guesses as to what this is all about (no prizes unfortunately - just for fun). If no-one guesses within a while I'll add another photo clue. Is it an electomagnet to ensure that the movement is stopped, to ensure it does not move for publicity shots???? Or a movement that they can control the hands to be in a perfect position for the shots !
r11co
Please tell me it's not some kind of led powered alternative to superlume! Well, here's what I was keeping for later, so hats off to RMcS!. These were created especially for AD shop window displays. (No) bonus points for who can tell me exactly why (with references!) rmcsherry
Now that is ugly! The only reason I can think of is that they were bored. Or, it's Pauls shop and his Craaazzzzyyyyy sale really is as crazy as it sounds. Edited September 15, 2006 by rmcsherry

I hope you're not disappointed when I tell you what it actually is... yeah....you are right, i'm a little disappointed. when you said it was a factory approved mod, i was thinking that it was something that we would want to do to our omega's. but, it was a fun exercise!! thanks!! I wouldn't, but when you realise that some nutters are paying $$$k's for these just to stick them in a display cabinet, then someone might. It's actually a promotional item circa. 2000 based on a prop from the 007 film The World is not Enough. A German website is listing these as 'Price on Application' - link. ubiquitous
When are they going to release the version with the saw blade bezel and lasers?
r11co
When are they going to release the version with the saw blade bezel... The Q branch sawblade watch was a Sub, and MI6 have fallen out with Rolex so you'll have to track down a vintage I'm afraid.... and lasers? Only on the quartz version.
