Sinn UX Hydro (EZM 2B) - Mission timer for maritime use

Just noticed from several dealer's websites, some stating that it's a genuine stripped down quality replica, that they are offering the Sinn Ux in Swiss ETA 2836. Do take a read below and also on Sinn website about HYDRO tech and why the GEN is only in Quartz. The outside cosmetic might be a 90% fit but the inside is 100% out. Plus of course, it will never do what HYDRO is supposed to do, read the dial at almost every angle underwater. An absolute must for a diver's watch

HYDRO

Absolutely free from fogging, pressure-resistant at any accessible diving depth and perfect readability from any angle under water

Plus you gotta wonder the surprise the watchsmith is gonna get finding his whole desk full of some oily liquid when he pops the hood for a battery change or something... or in my case, he sees some jalapeno or olive oozing out from my watch along with the olive oil

  • 2 weeks later...

Caster Oil is used often inside enclosures that are used for undersea use. Fluorinert is also used, but it's more expensive and harder to get. It would be fun to try it on a quartz watch.

Its already in the planning i hear, after taking apart a GEN SiNN UX, its been discovered the oil is sealed on the dial side by soldering the insides. The oil is released via means of a plug. I'm not involved in this project but will try to get more info and updates as they move along.
