ronboy
Hi , Thought it was about time I introduced myself. Without this forum I wouldn't have had the confidence to buy from a dealer as I realised that there are so many scam sites out there but after I found rwg and looking at all the information and reviews on site it gave me more confidence to buy my first rep ,even so I was wary so my first purchase was a tag heuer link quartz which arrived 8 days from ordering from trusty and I was delighted at the quality. I set it to the atomic clock and in a month it has only lost 2 seconds so now flush with confidence I ordered a tag heuer carrera calibre 16 43mm gp f1 with titanium case and leather strap and delivered to my door in 8 days , so a big thank you to andrew at trusty's for great service and an even bigger thank you for all you seasoned members for supplying all the invaluable information on this forum. One question I would like to ask if I may: The quality of the "super reps" is very very good and in my mind the factories are quite capable of making almost 100% perfect copies but its like they don't want to do so , example :the carrera I purchased have blue screws on the movement ,the tag heuer logo on the dial are missing the arrow tips , subdials being slightly wider, I knew this before ordering thanks to the info on here and these tiny imperfections don't bother me but it got me thinking that it's like the factories ae deliberately putting tint faults on ,Is this to keep them identified as "reps" anyway here are some pictures of my two reps. cheers
Sl1deways
Very nice! I like the Ti Carrera. I'm thinking about getting the same rep. The only major difference I've seen is the band. The Ti I checked out at my local AD had a carbon fiber print leather with red stitching. Was this an option or is the band it came with the default one? ronboy
Yes I saw that the genuine has a fibre print leather strap and I hunted to find a dealer with the same strap but the only one that came close was the quartz version at watcheden but it was with a buckle and didn't look that good quality . The strap on the movement version is good quality and doesn't look out of place as you only see the carbon fibre when you look straight on to the watch ,the rest of the time it looks like plain black. I also see that the gen with the green stitching carbon fibre dial comes with a plain black leather strap.I don't know what strap options are available on the red stitching gen's but here are some pics showing the gen carbon print strap , the cheap copy fitted to the quartz versions and the leather straps fitted to the A7750 movement versions.untitled 9908.bmp

P4GTR
Excellent photos and info on this rep. I did a review of the Day/Date somewhat recently. Now you come along with a Ti case, these amazing pictures... Who do you think you are? If the dial isn't genuine Carbon fiber I'm of no interest in it, honestly. However, I couldn't care less about the dial. With Gen leather, a deployant and a matte black dial swap, this Ti case this could be a dream franken. I believe those with the bank roll, would have no problem getting a good AD with a penchant to "build their own" gen Carerra Day/Date to their liking, so why cant we use the best of with what we have? I dont know why they get the minutiae perfect, than leave the arrow head off of the logo, or use blued screws. I want to know as well. What I do know is they nailed the Day/Date. This is a watch that is being very under appreciated in the rep community right now. It's only a matter of time before the boys latch on as if it were a hard nipple. Will Leo being the ambassador for the Day/Date up the ante with the rep boys here on RWG? Who knows. Another good choice by Tag IMO. Leo's got some talent, unlike most of the actors now a days.
