I think you are referring to the McQueen Explorer II Jkay. I just scoured through the Rolex & Review forums to find a review on the Explorer 1 and couldn't find any. I too am interested in seeing a review on the much simpler looking Exp I 39mm model. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

I was looking at some of the pictures on Josh's site, but they look like the older version with the arabic number in silver outline with lume filling. The new one looks to have solid silvery metal arabic numbers without lume?

According to someone on another rep forum (starts with an 'R'), there are two versions of the 39mm Explorer 1 floating around--the nicer one is supposedly by the same folks who make the better Milgauss. I also notice that someone has just posted a review of the new Explorer in that other rep forum (ends with an 'epgeek'). It looks good at first glance, but those short hands annoy me, as they do on the gen.

I never quite got the Explorer I.

It's a classic model but the design is very mundane. It's probably not ExpI's fault though... it's just that all watch brands in the world have copied that particular design. My wife's father has a Seiko that looks exactly like ExpI. Or Orient, Citizen, whatever it is... :D
