ubiquitous
Remarkable images; especially the dragonfly shots! Very nice!
Guest ThePhilosopher
The swirly bokeh is pretty unique to this lens in 35mm; I don't know of any others that do so off the top of my head. Pentax screwmount lenses are a good value.
dbutlerman
Dragonfly is very cool! Seems like a nice lens...what would the difference (besides focal length) be between that and like a Nikon 50mm f/1.8?
Guest ThePhilosopher
It's a Russian-made manual focus lens. The Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 doesn't swirl like this either.
dbutlerman
The swirl is cool - I just get little pentagonal shapes...

eunomians
Nice Bokeh I'm a big fan of short depth of field lenses. My personal favorite that I own is the Canon 85mm 1.2L--it's hard to use, but nothing else looks like it aside from a Noctilux.

eunomians
That's true but I ain't gonna lug around a Large Format rig wherever I go! I don't even have a large format kit, lol. i guess those Lens Baby contraptions probably work the same way, with adjustable bellows. Kinda cool I suppose. In any event, I dig your pics. redwatch
Lens test drive #2: Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 non-AI converted to work on my D3: Did you add a CPU chip to the lens? Great shot!
Guest ThePhilosopher
No, it's still completely manual - just converted to be safe to mount to a DSLR.
