Peter52 Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 Hey guys, since yesterday i'm the proud owner of a Graham chronofighter oversice scarab. Nice watch, the only thing that bothers me is that the chrono lever is a little bit wobbly i read in the forum that there is an easy fix for this by adding a washer to the lever or so. But i can't find a tutorial on this. Help is much appreciated, thanks
unkul Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 My advice would be to 1. get some dental floss or ribbon as you would use when wrapping a gift. 2. Slice the ribbon really thin so its the thickness of fuse wire 3. Work this upto the pivot hinge of the lever (its tricky but pliers and patience and a fair length of ribbin will work) 4. Once in position twist as you would when sealing a sandwich bag so the ribbon gets really tight under the lever (lever should not be wobbly now) 5. Trim away excess using a craft knife (carefully) 7. Roberts your mothers brother Worked for me like a charm.
Bike Mike Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 For my Grahams, I did a little more robust fix then using dental floss. I removed the lever and put 3 small dabs of JB Weld on the inside of the lower portion of the lever and let dry. Once dried I filled the JB weld down to the proper thickness to get a perfect fit! Reinstalled the lever and never looked back. Did this on a couple of my Pams that had the dental floss treatment. Little time consuming but I feel it works much better! Please post pics of your Scarab as I am about to order one I think!
unkul Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 Hey mike how did you remove the lever. \i couldnt find a key to fit it?
Bike Mike Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 One of my allen keys. Don't recall if it was english or metric...was over a year ago. Some of my keys are also filled down for those "special" applications.
