what2 Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 for a lazy guy who is dangerous with watch tools...
chiman12 Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 Wow!!! That is a nice Tudor sub...tell us more W!
what2 Posted August 22, 2010 Author Report Posted August 22, 2010 $35,000 on the VRF, I am after the same look at about 1/100 the price..
chiman12 Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 And all along I thought you owned it...I was deceived... :black_eye: .... Anyway...would this make a good base for a Tudor BC project??? http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_7&products_id=6694&zenid=1abe5a44a4ae51054b38721478d71288 I think sourcing a good dial is an issue, because they are very rare to come by! I would go with a slow beat ETA 247X and flatten the case back. That would be the cheapest I can think of...
what2 Posted August 22, 2010 Author Report Posted August 22, 2010 that was more or less what I was thinking too, just thought maybe there was a seller I did not know of
chiman12 Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 Unfortunately, the cheapest dealer is Yuki...but you are going into $800+ territory. If you can get a proper dial to fit a proper case, then 3/4 of the battle will be won!

I would go with a slow beat ETA 247X and flatten the case back. That would be the cheapest I can think of... I ve got one of these cases/ watches from PC and I have an aftermarket dial. The thing is, the diameter of the case/rehaut is bigger than the dial and therefore in my opinion does not fit properly. If anyone else has done this conversion successfully, please let us know .
