Matte Spray and IWC dial

I just made my first try and the result is not good.

I used a Tamiya TS-80. I

Bad result for one main reason: some writings are almost covered and hardly readable.

Do you think i used too much spray?

I have to admit it was very wet.

Second, there are some texture but i reckon it's not my fault in this case, just the wrong spray product (assuming there's a product without this side effect).

Of course i used a dial i don't need but now i'm afraid to try with one dial i want to keep.

Any tip much appreciated.

Use a professional airbrush. You can regulate the paint flow much better.

I read Tamiya spray works well, better than low budget airbrush.

I didn't want to spend big money for a airbrush i'm gonna use few times per year.

Moreover i wasn't aware too much paint could have covered white parts. Live and learn.

You may be able to polish some of that back mate, i always use "Mr Hobby top coat flat mat" it comes in a small blue spray tin with asian writing all over it , i get it from my local model shop and have used it on all my vintage dials

Andy i'll have a look if i can find it.

Tamiya was considered one of the best choices.

In the model shop where i was there was also another "made in japan" matte spray and i was told it was better.

However i think it's my fault not tamiya's.
