nakortheblue
I'm not sure about dealers' claims on waterproofing and servicing, having never used them but if there is a reasonably trusted seller who says that our trusted modders like Vac and The Zigmeister have serviced the watch, that may be reasonable to raise the asking price. FxrAndy
Dealer servicing and water proofing No i would not trust it. Work by Ziggy, vac ect then i would take that in consideration in the price. I service all my own watches these days and a it is a good couple of hours workk for an automatic but once it is done i expect 5 years of problem free opperation and that piece of mind is worth a lot when you are buying a rep. TeeJay
After hearing reports that watches were leaking even after the buyer had paid the dealer's premium for waterproofing, no, I do not trust any claims that paying extra will get a watch waterproofed from the dealer. However, I do believe that most watches will be waterproof by virtue of their design, and have had a 99% success rate with that regard on my purchased watches. I've only had one watch which leaked upon arrival, a PAM 105. It was sent back for replacement, and the replacement was perfectly waterproof As soon as they arrive, I run them under a faucet on full flow. If all is well, it goes on the wrist and then endures bathing/swimming etc. If it was to fog up, well, that just gives me a little project of stripping the watch to dry it out
