Broker1981 Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Hi! I just received my AP ROO Montoya Rose Gold edition from Connie. At first glance it is a thing of beauty, and i will be posting images as soon as my lady comes home from her trip (our camera is with her). It is somewhat depressing that i don't have a snowball's chance in h... of using the watch until my specially made strap arrives from Aaron. As for the lume i think i will let it be. As you can tell from the attached picture the lumed surfaces on this watch are very small. In addition i really don't look at my watch much in the dark... As for the movement. It is an asian 7550. The second hand at 12 "shivers". It's kinda like it thinks it's "heavy" to go around. And it doesn't move in a sweeping motion. Is this normal or a problem? Any help would be much appreciated! With regards, Broker
redwatch Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 I'd say it's pretty normal. Occasionally you will get lucky and get an A7750 that is in good shape, but most of the time, it's very highly recommended that you get it serviced by a rep friendly watchsmith as soon as you can. You will get many years of reliable use from it if you do. Also remember - never manually change the date when the time is between 10pm and 2am. (This holds true for the Swiss 7750 as well). It can really mess up the movement.
Broker1981 Posted September 14, 2010 Author Report Posted September 14, 2010 Ok! I will contact a watchsmith asap. Are there any recommended within EU?
PowerShot Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 I think Domenico is the man inside the EU You can find him & review at he's topic here!
Broker1981 Posted September 14, 2010 Author Report Posted September 14, 2010 Thank you! I have already e-mailed him and gotten a reply. The going rate for full service and water proofing is 140
redwatch Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Good call! That will make it a lot better!
warner Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Congratulations on your new watch. I have the same version from Connie. Mine doesn't shiver as you described above, but I would also suggest you get the sec@12 serviced to be on the safe side !!!
Francisco Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 here you have an explanation of why your watch has no smooth motion: here a couple of videos showing how the mtion improves after improving the movement: regards, Francisco
