Hi all. How durable is a PVD finish, specifically on Davidsen's PVD models? I wouldn't mind wearing a PVD watch and getting 'bright' rub marks on it, but it would really bother me if steel showed through a scratch or mark. I am particularly worried about wear on the lugs from strap changes and also wear on the CG from opening/closing lever. Thanks.

I have had my Davidson 195 for 6 months or so...

It came with a small nick in the finish where the SS showed through, very very tiny, infact I only notice it if light shines directly on it...

I have worn it alot, and gotten several scuffs on it, you can tell when you scuff it, but no steel comes through...someone compaied it to the changing of color of leather (patena /sp?) and I would agree...the scuffs just give it character.

I've had mine for 6 months as well; purchased in April, and wear it on occassion. It's collected some patina... But it's held up gracefully...

Dude, Is yours from davidsenjpn?

Beautiful, in any case... :thumbsupsmileyanim::wub:

Same here. Exact same issue. I can't see it when I wear it, so I live with it.

I too have one of his PVDs (195). I've had it for about 3 months and it has gathered some light 'scuff' marks. No deep gashes though. It's a very durable PVD coating, IMO.

Indeed... It is a davidsen 009 :) My pics represent the watch as being a bit darker than it really is; I have since taken a cape cod to it, and it's lightened up a bit more.

One thing I can say- Natural patina on the PVD's surface is gorgeous! I love it :wub:
