Finepics
Here is the crown for my project 3646 which came back from the engravers this week. It's not perfect and not quite what I was expecting but it has been hand engraved and it's not that bad so is sitting happily on the watch. It's a bit loose and wobbly so I hope it stays put!! I have also got something very special on the way soon. This is one of the things that really gives the 3646 a distinctive look - it has a very tall bezel with a very broad top surface where the crystal sits in and I am fortunate enough to have one custom made for this. Here's a taster pic but will post more when it's fitted. Also the dial will be nice too (I hope!!). A standard height rep bezel is the one on the right!! Finepics
Thanks Gil - a lot of help from 3rd parties but well worth the effort. I cannot wait to get it finished.
ubiquitous
Amazing! I can't wait to see this one finished! You've taken every step thus far to the fullest. The end result is going to be unreal!

MADRED7
I like the crown....looks unique! The new bezel will make a huge difference on your watch, but please remember that also the back should be thicker than the standard ss backs (at least double thickness)....this will further improve the vintage look. Theo P.S.: if you need a side pic or compare pic....drop me a line! Edited September 27, 2006 by PAM1A
Finepics
Thanks Theo - I have a huge number of pics so I know about the back. Actually it has a display back which I will leave in place with a domed acrylic crystal that will be fitted. Should get it altogether soon!! rmcsherry
Glad you posted some pictures eventually, it looks great - well worth the effort you went to. You've got a lot invested in this project and the dial will really finish it off. One thing that concerns me is the time on each of your posts - do you not sleep?! madasboot
Congrats Mark! The crown engraving looks good once the pic is scaled to its real size. As for the bezel I confess I am speechless... I would say it looks the real thing! Hope you have it all assembled soon so I can testify the "weight" of your project... Hello, I Am A Vintage Radiomir Afficionado, And wondered where you got that good looking 3646 Cushion case from!? The best So far I have spotted is the WM 3464 but I don't like the Strap, Bezel, Backplate, Strap Wire Attachments, Crown, Hands and I Especially Dislike Ít's price tag! Could You Replicate some of the parts you are making for your Ultimate Radiomir Project, and sell them?
