OK we have a result! :D

Oliver (repaustria) has agreed to do some work on the watch for me. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

As soon as it's done I will post pictures, I'm told he does excellent work. :)

Hi everyone :)

I have just been delivered my MBW DRSD and it is a beautiful watch, but there is a lot of dust under the acrylic crystal :(

Here is a large picture so you have been warned. :p It shows the dust and marks quite clearly and they are under the crystal.

Bit of a disapointment, but what I am really wanting to know is who is the best person in th EU to modify these vintage reps? I am thinking of these in particular:

- Crown guards

- Lug holes

- Bezel insert/Pearl

- Caseback engravings

- Dial and hands aging/relume

That is what I would be looking to have done :) I would hope that whoever could do the modifications would be able to clean and remove the marks/dust etc.....

Thanks for your help. You guys on this board have been fantastic in the past with pointing me in the right direction, so I hope you can do the same once more B)^_^

Cheers! :drunk:

Try Oli (repaustria) or Tommy (palpatine). Both are in the EU...

Thanks ubiquitous, I have PM'ed them both B)

The more I look at the watch, the more I like it :D It is definitely the best replica I have purchased. With the mods done and a little clean, it would be fantastic to say the least

I really hope they can help -_-

I know I will :)

Due to the fantastic support I have received here, I have just added myself as a RWG supporter :D

Just pick mine up from the post office and i agree it is a beautiful watch. I am debating whether i should sale it or not since i am more into the modern sub. Wear it well friend.

I have seen many people wearing modern subs, be they real or fake. I can't recall ever seeing a vintage sub on anyone, for that reason alone I would keep it :D

So it begins! :)

Oliver has kindly sent me a couple of pictures to show me how he is aging the dial. Starting with the hour markers.

Here they are:

Oliver compared my dial to a genuine 5512 and then tried to emulate it as best he could. I think he did a fantastic job! :D

What do you guys think?

Cheers :drunk:

Do you want the truth? Looks like the Alps!!!!!!! I hope he is going to rub them down.

Here's what a relumed Rollie should look like. This was done by the best in the business (The Zigmeister) and finished off by yours truly. Although The Zigmeister did the hard work. I will post later this week how it was done.

My fault anyway as my post came across as if this was the finished article. As Oliver mentions he has only just started :)

I think the hour markers should show a little texture etc..... If it was smooth it would not be realistic.

Man Sherrington, please do your homework.

Tritium expands and moves by times, in little cases symmetrically. I have handled genuine items, seen a ton of reference pics.

Please, go have a look at eBay or all the vintage ref sites...

I admit, the pics are bad and don't reflect the truth... anyway, having a watchmaker helping one with the art (who is actually a local specialist in vintage pieces) is priceless... and I have one.

Furthermore this is no way the finished product...

Glad to hear it's not the finished article. Here's a TYPICAL DRSD dial from the hundreds of photos I have (mostly from TZ not Ebay!!!!). This is the look Mickey should be getting. :D

Oliver has told me he will be finished very soon! :D

I should have some pictures of the finished watch which I will post as soon as I can. I have seen a few preview pictures and it looks like Oliver has done a great job. :thumbsupsmileyanim:
