hackR Posted October 20, 2010 Report Share Posted October 20, 2010 argh...i removed the stem/crown from my breitling chrono-matic manual wind (venus 175 or seagull st-19 or ???) by gently depressing the release button with the crown in the winding position...stem/crown popped out fine...but it appears the release button is depressed and the stem/crown will not stay in - so i therefore cannot set the time... the watch is fully wound and running/working... did i frog up the keyless works or is there a simple way to reset the release button?... as always, advice welcome... thanks...R Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Look in my sig at my 6-0-clock sub mod on the ST19, I have a set in their on resetting the keyless...that should help...good luck!!! This has inspired me to wear a 6263!! hackR Posted October 20, 2010 Author Report Share Posted October 20, 2010 argh, S!... this is the second time...not sure if these movements are different than the other movements i've tinkered with - but some reason, i release the stem carefully... it releases, but i can't get it back in...the watch was wound and running and i released it in the winding position...but damn - this is frustrating... oh well...i'll check out the tutorial and see if i want to attempt this... hackR Posted October 21, 2010 Author Report Share Posted October 21, 2010 woo hoo.... problem solved...the stem release button was NOT stuck...but that wasn't the issue...the stem is slightly too short...i adjusted the stem in the crown to lengthen it just a tad, and then it locked in fine...i probably need to get a longer stem as i don't want to glue this one...it does work ok now - but it should be tighter... there was a clicking/slipping of the stem when winding - which is why i opened it in the first place...this Breitling Chrono-matic is a cool handwind watch - as the stem/crown is on the left, but the chronos pushers are on the right...from a quick glance, i think the movement in it can also support the normal configuration of stem/crown and chronos pushers on the same side...very cool... i need to read RobbieG's guide again to determine if its venus, seagul, lemania... Did they add on a couple levers like I read somewhere that they did on the Graham's to offset one of the pushers?? That's lucky. There was a post somewhere about the stem being relatively available because it's compatible with something more common...can't remember what the post was though...hopefully you can find it.
