How good PVD?

Hi,

Generally speaking, how good is the black PVD coating on the rep B&R watches? I'm thinking of ordering this watch

and I'm wondering how close the PVD coating matches the original's in looks and durability.

Or, would I be better off getting a silver one like this?

Worn in rotation these are OK mate. I wouldnt want it as a beater

But as for gen like finish it is off especially the screws and lustre. But 99% of people wont notice !!

Pete,

Are both styles off or just the PVD? Why wouldn't you wear it as a daily beater?

I think the BR's PVD is top notch stuff the one I had, though never really roughed up seemed really durable and was very gen like. I wish I'd have kept mine as they are really individual watches I should of got it on some leather, as it would of been a keeper then. Only real bad thing is the lume which is non existent.

I bought a couple of PVD versions recently and one had a nice finish but was very thin so it would chip scratch off easily. The other was tougher but the finish was not gen like. Both models face screws were not good

So unless it was in rotation I would not recommend but I am happy with the SS once rebrushed and polished to look more gen like.

ST4 never had a problem because his watches never take much abuse.....Well they wouldnt would they......As a manicurist he has very delicate way about him !!!
