  1. I would add Oris. I picked up a very sharp Williams F1 day/date for just over a grand.
  2. Hi, From where did you source the rep? Great writeup by the way.
  3. Has anyone bought one of these beauties lately? I'm wondering if the quality is the same, better, or worse. I'm thinking of buying one (this one http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=129&products_id=3053) and I wanted to check with the experts first.
  4. Pete, Are both styles off or just the PVD? Why wouldn't you wear it as a daily beater?
  5. Hi, Generally speaking, how good is the black PVD coating on the rep B&R watches? I'm thinking of ordering this watch http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=104_148&products_id=1913 and I'm wondering how close the PVD coating matches the original's in looks and durability. Or, would I be better off getting a silver one like this? http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=104_148&products_id=2779 Thanks!
  6. Andrews military one? Could you post a link? Thanks!
  7. In your experience, who sells the most accurate replica of a black BR03-92? I've bought many replicas from several of the trusted vendors on this site, but never a Bell & Ross.
  8. I have a gen case back on my SMP rep. It fits perfectly. I bought it from a member of this forum.
  9. I've sent it directly to him in the past. Usually, it takes a few weeks for him to collect all the crystals for the shipment then they are off for a few weeks then it is a couple of weeks to send them back. Normally I'm not in too much of a hurry, but I want to get this watch back on my wrist. Txcollector - I agree Chief's is a better deal. His AR is $50 or so and a generic crystal is $20 or less. The gen Omega crystal is about $140.
  10. What did I do? Stupid, stupid stupid!!! I still can't believe I did this. I was in the garage and I reached behind a box that is up against a cement wall. As I reached behind the box, scraaaaaaaatch went my crystal along about a 6 inch section of very rough cement. Basically, it looks like I took 200 grit sand paper across the crystal. Nothing, not even Chieftang's coating can stand up to that. The sapphire crystal itself even has some fine hairline scratches in it. I don't know how I didn't damage the watch itself. I've never done anything so absolutely stupid regarding one of my watches in my life. I always use my right hand when doing something like this or I take my watch off. I was in a rush (my wife was in the car yelling at me to hurry up - we were late for an event) and I was in a bad mood (it got a whole lot worse very quickly, let me tell you). Thanks for the feedback everyone. I guess I'll get a generic crystal and have Chiefie work his magic on it.
  11. I have a few crystals with Chieftang's AR on them and I must say they are top notch, awesome! My question is, how does his AR compare to the factory AR on a factory Omega crystal on a Seamaster? I'm asking because I just scratched the heck out of the crystal on Chieftang AR coated crystal. Now I'm faced with buying a generic crystal and sending it off to Chieftang to get coated which can have a turn-around of 3 - 5 months from today. Or, I can buy a genuine factory AR crystal from Ofrei which I will have installed in my watch in 1 - 2 weeks. What should I do???? I want to have my watch back in service ASAP but I want a top notch AR too.
  12. I recently picked up this rep and I love it. It is a near perfect replica.
  13. Looks like I'll be adding the Ebel to my collection then. What's the Aquaracer? Never heard of it.
  14. I have a bunch of the watches I like and several Omegas (including gens). This time I would like to go for accuracy.
  15. I really like that Ebel rep. What vendor has the best one?
  16. What is the most accurate rep? I'm not asking which is the best looking or the coolest, but which is the most indistinguishable from the real thing? I have $350 burning a hole in my pocket! I already have a rep B&R BR02, which is very close.
  17. Let me know if you find a place that sells gen dial & hands.
  18. I've Googled and Googled but I can't find anyone who has B&R gen parts. Specifically, I'm looking for a gen dial and hands form my rep BR02.
  19. Thanks everyone! Like I said, I'm not familiar with Rolex / Tudors and I wasn't sure that this wasn't a watch that someone cobbled together out of spare parts (gen & non-gen). Now, if this was an Omega then I wouldn't be asking this question
  20. Can anyone identify this? It looks like a frankenwatch to me, but I'm not knowledgeable about Rolexes. click here for more
  21. Here's what his watch looks like, with the Secret Service logo. The watch itself is a Jorg Gray 6500 Chronograph. Here it is for $180 (but you have to buy 12). I searched around before and found a place that would sell it for that price for only 5 (group buy??). Watch Here's a whole slew of Jorg Gray watches..... click me
  22. It is an attractive watch. Cheap, but attractive. If you buy a cheaper one it has a funky logo (or is blank) just below the 12. I guess if you look around for one with an attractive logo then that's OK. The one Obama wears has the secret service logo on it but those aren't for sale to the public. Who knows, maybe we can encourage a rep factory to buy some without a logo and then print the secret service logo on it. Now, I'd buy that!!!
  23. Nice looking watch and pretty cool that's it is the watch worn by Obama but it's still a rep because they can't but the correct logo on it (secret service). FYI - This watch is made for companies to buy, put their logo on it, and hand it out as a gift. A logo free watch is $180. Obamawatch Link
  24. I have a non-chrono version and I love it. Let me know if you find some place that sells a gen strap & the price. I've been wearing my rep strap for 6 mos and it's holding up fine. BTW - I would love to replace the dial and hands with gen items but I can't find anyplace that sells them.
  25. If you look closely you can see it's not part of the case. Yet, it doesn't pop out nor can I find anyone who sells a replacement. I don't want to force it and risk damaging the case. It's killing me because except for the bezel my watch is flawless.
