TeeJay
Intresting reads, personally, I'd rather see a clampdown on luxury items with price-fixing, so people are only paying what the goods are actually worth, rather than the inflated pricetag of what someone is prepared to pay... Remove the need for the counterfeit goods (which are from the same factories anyway) and people will start voting with their wallets. No one is forcing people to buy Chinese rep goods, people are choosing to buy the goods because it is the best option for their budget, so if the costs were reduced on luxury items, there would be no demand, thus the Chinese would find themselves with a lot of product they are unable to shift
Ronin
The yearly rattling of the sabers. From what I can see, the focus is more on MPAA/RIAA mass produced media. Handbags and infringement on "Sports" memorabilia. Right now, the NFL, MLB, RIAA, MPAA are some of the groups being catered to. They probably have more money and lobbyists than the watch industry in this current recession. Dare I say 'fake watch' crackdowns are rather passe' these days. "Stay calm, and carry on"
