Guest chronomat123 Posted October 1, 2006 Report Posted October 1, 2006 I sold my MBW 1680-- and I need a vintage Rolex again. I originally sold it with the intention of getting a WM 1665 whiteletter, bu tnow I'm having second thoughts, because I really like the flat crystal and cyclops of the 1680. Does anyone own both? Is one beter looking than the other ( I realize it's a matter of opinion.) So do I get a white 1665 or just buy another 1680 white?
Defender110 Posted October 1, 2006 Report Posted October 1, 2006 - get another 1680.. i have both and i wear the 1680 white all the time and never wear the 1665 eventhough i have a vintage fold over bracelet for the 1665 too. the 1680 is more substantial esp if you wear other big watches like breitling or pannies. =)
bigpops Posted October 1, 2006 Report Posted October 1, 2006 1665 white. When i finally get an MBW/WM (ie. when other watches stop getting in the way), that's what i'm going for. Have you seen Bazz's? It's gorgeous.
HauteHippie Posted October 1, 2006 Report Posted October 1, 2006 the 1680 is more substantial esp if you wear other big watches like breitling or pannies. =) Really? I would have expected the opposite... Interesting. I've always thought SDs were more substantial.
ubiquitous Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 I've got both... Modded and worked over with gen parts. But if I had to choose a favorite, my preference would be the 1665. 1680 1665
Guest chronomat123 Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 Well this sucks. You guys convinced me a whiteletter 1665 is the way to go. But I can't find one. Just ordered a red 1680 from WM. I can't wait any longer, it's sad. ........... see how this goes
Sherrington Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 I have both and love them equally. Although I am in the process of changing my white letter back to a DRSD with a modded dial. Watch this space. Anyhow here's the current versions for now. Oh and a 5517 thrown in for good measure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
