sixbennetts
Now that we're seeing the new 7753, dare we hope for a Tricompax Navitimer with a flush datewheel? Possible? Edited January 18, 2011 by sixbennetts
andreww
I believe they are only using the a7753 in watches that have a quick set date pusher.

What are the chances of using one of these A7753's and a gen dial to make a Tricompax rep, given that I have a Breiting font datewheel for an A7750. Could I use the same datewheel, do you think? The Gen dials DW is further outboard (further away from center) then the A7750, so the 2 together would not work. You would need to use the Rep dial. sixbennetts
So if I had a rep tricompax, best I could hope for is to swap in a new A7753 to fix the sunken datewheel issue, right? A Lello datewheel that fits an A7750 should also work in an A7753, right?
redwatch
I believe there is an issue with the A7753 as the date wheel is not exactly in line with the ETA version so it probably wouldn't work. There was a big write up about it when the A7753 came out for the chrono PAM's.

Yes and no - problem with replacing A7750 with A7753 is thatA7753 is thinner then 7750, so you would have problems with crown alignment, basically case must be made to accept 7753. Not exactly true ... this is picture of A7753 movement with 7750 date wheel and A7750 dial: Another problem for tri-compax Navi is lack of date quick-set, and design of date driving wheel on A7753, that is not identical to ETA 7753 version, preventing setting of date by going back and forth from 10PM to 2AM, moving dates forward in such way. regards
sixbennetts
So if one did sort out the thickness issue, then it would HAVE to either be worn all the time or kept on a winder, because the only way to advance the date is by going around 24 hours with the hands? DrRockso
Isn't the a7753 datewheel nearly twice as thick as the real one?
