I recently took my SSD apart. I had a semi-difficult time getting the bezel off..

My question is: When you place a bezel on a flat surface, should it lie flat or is there some curve to it? Did I bend the bezel while taking it off?! :o

Bend it back flat.

I've done that before, and I've never not been able to get it back to flat. Unless you taco'ed the bezel so bad that you cracked it, with patience and a firm hand you should be able to get it back to normal.

I've had to reshape a bezel or two before.. I found it easiest to do on the edge of a table or desk... Also, if you put it on a train track, that will do the trick as well.

UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH...

:pardon:

guess i'll be looking for another bezel..

Recommendations?

Yep, the bezel should be flat. It seems that I've bent most of the ones I've taken off. What I've done is to take two pieces of wood with the bezel in the middle, sandwiched, and placed it all in a vise and slowly squeezed it. If the wood is too soft the bezel will embed in it and you'll need to dig it out. It usually takes a few times, rotating the bezel each time, to get it almost flat. I haven't gotten one perfect yet, but it's so close that there is no problem.
