offshore
Careful here guys...rumour has it that there are now both ETA and Sellita clones out there. If you were definetly getting an original, ETA or Sellita,....ETA no contest. However in this more grey world we find ourselves, maybe just a little more research is required here!! wat44
I said sellita because the odds are we talking clone eta versus gen sellita because much less likely to have clone sellita (even though they exist) - is my understanding right? simonporsche
If you go to BK's watch garage and take a look at the thread titled: noob factory phasing out ETA, it has a good discussion on the two movements. I would paste the link but I'm using tapatalk via my iPhone.

I wouldn't be gambling on that assumption, when we are talking about the rep biz! O/S
RWG Technical
ETA hands down, as long as it's genuine and not a copy. Sellita is a better choice than a clone copy, but should not be your first choice.
maxman
I always thought of Selita as the generic equivalent of a ETA,good movement but not quite as good as the genuine article.
sneed12
What makes people think that there are clone Sellitas out there? Just out of curiousity.

There has been some discussion in other places about these. Not confirmed, however I wouldn't be surprised. O/S
Jimster
I've talked to the materials houses in the US and none can get Sellita mvts or parts. Now that I think of it I haven't asked OFrei but my locals can't get them.
wat44
did you ask OS? I think he can get them a trusted dealer has seen clone sellitas
sneed12
did you ask OS? I think he can get them a trusted dealer has seen clone sellitas I don't doubt that it could happen, because all you would have to do is change the stampings. I just don't see why a rep factory would do that. It costs more than nothing, and why would someone build clone Sellitas instead of clone ETAs? offshore
I have an account with Sellita, however the prices are nothing special, so I still go gen ETA when I need a movement. O/S
