cougaree Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 Guys, I think the watch has a separated rotor problem, which is an easy fix. However the caseback is so tight that I can't open it with my watch ball nor the watch case opener (didn't try too hard, afraid to scratch the ace more). Any thoughts on how to open it? It seems to me I need one of those Breitling caseback dies (they are spendy!!!). Thanks for your help!
wimpie007 Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 What i always do is remove the bracelet Put double sided tape or duct tape(sticky side up and tape the edged so it sticks to the surface) on the table or wall so the surface is flat Put the case back on it and push on the watch quite hard and rotate
boomer775 Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 I've had luck with gorilla tape if the duct tape approach doesn't work. If you get the really strong hold duct tape you should be good though..,
cougaree Posted February 5, 2011 Author Report Posted February 5, 2011 Thank you for the advice! I tried the duck tape today, no success. I turned so hard even ripped the tape. Tomorrow I will get gorilla tape.
Kerbus Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 If all else fails, you'll need to buy a hand held case opener die for Breitling. They're about $20 to $30 so.
cougaree Posted February 5, 2011 Author Report Posted February 5, 2011 They are? That would be great! But the ones I have seen are a lot of $$. Where should I get it for $20-30? Thanks!
Kerbus Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 Let me sift through my bookmarks for a link for you...

Bike Mike Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 You want me to fix the rotor and put the case back on?...not to tight of course...
cougaree Posted February 8, 2011 Author Report Posted February 8, 2011 Just to open the case, no need to fix the rotor. Thanks Mike!
cougaree Posted February 8, 2011 Author Report Posted February 8, 2011 Watch sent! I just ordered a breitling case opening die for a good price. Hopefully it will solve my future issues.
