omni Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 That was great. To show how old I am, in the '70's I used to listen to Weird Al when he'd show up as a guest artist in the studio of the "Dr. Demento Radio Show" when I worked in So. Cal. Nostalgia-trippin' amongst other type's of "trippin'."
watchlover321 Posted October 9, 2006 Report Posted October 9, 2006 As a matter of fact, I got the whole CD because of this post. Check out "White and nerdy"
Antonio Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 As a matter of fact, I got the whole CD because of this post. Check out "White and nerdy" White & Nerdy is brilliant, as is the video, parody of an already great song by Chamillionaire, "Ridin'". Check out both videos if you get a chance. Al's lyrics are smart and fun, and he raps better than half of hip-hop. I love that he named the album "Straight Outta Lynwood", an homage to the NWA 1988 album "Straight Outta Compton". For those who don't know, Compton is the epicenter of South Central Los Angeles, Lynwood is just north of it and not much better these days. Al was raised in Lynwood.
