DW 6263 case question

dieselpower

Recommended Posts

I have recently bought a DW 6263 case for a planned daytona build (Asian 7750 powered) and I notice that there are no serial or model numbers engraved between the lugs. Is it possible to have the model number (6263) and an 'imaginary' serial number engraved now and if so does anybody know who might be able to perform such miracles?

Cheers.

@ Sql_pl, Yes. I gave you the history of my ownership of the EE6263 in your thread about your Spinmaster Daytona. Following on from that I have sourced the following: DW Case, Gen T21, Gen (Tall coronet) NOS Crown and tube, a pair of good quality pushers and a gen folded link bracelet. It is my plan to use the spare EE dial and movement (which has been faultless all this time), put all these parts together and hey presto! Another Asian powered 6263 is born :thumbsupsmileyanim:

I am a little unhappy about the lack of engraving on the DW case. My fault for not doing my research properly :bangin: You got any idea about the member that freddy333 is referring to who might be able to engrave it for me?

He is asking $350 to engrave the case

I know you've already got the case, but at that price you could buy a new one and have DW engrave it himself. Better yet, send it back to him. He charges a little extra for the engraving--I can't remember exactly how much, but it ain't $350! It's a worthy upgrade, especially if you like to wear your Daytonas on straps like I often do. The quality's pretty good:

Maybe I should've blurred my fake serial number! :p

Anyone else capable of doing this?

Have you checked with DW to see why you received a case without even the usual laser etched lug numbers in the 1st place? Very odd that your case would have nothing. I am pretty sure DW will engrave it for a reasonable fee if you are willing to return it to him. Alternatively, try some local jewelry stores, most of which engrave alot of watch cases. Just take them the blank case & tell them the original got worn away over the years due to the end links rubbing against the case. Many of the yavos who work in these shops would not know an antique from a toothbrush.
