totalwise Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 I was wondering whether a light tend with two LED white lights fired from either direction such as light tent ebay page is worth investing in? I've been meaning to get it, but thought I'd run it past you. I tend to have spare time in the evenigts to take photos, and don't have any natural light obviously.
Cats Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 It's the same light tent as i occasionally use for shooting pics. The tent is OK , needs some skill to get it back in the bag again after usage. Most important part is the lighting . If you are going to use LED lights make sure you set the white balance correctly. For setting the white balance i use a Expo disc. Shoot a picture straight into the light source with the Expo disc mounted to the lens and choose the white balance manually. Carpe Diem Cats
txcollector Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 just be mindful of the size. 12in/80cm is quite large. I use this same one for shots with my speedlite (the large tent is nice to bounce the flash). If you are going to use any continuous lighting be aware this is a very large tent to illuminate.
