kronos twin
Hello, peeps. I'm going to visit Switzerland during the time that Baselworld is taking place. I have a conference to attend in Fribourg on Friday, but I'd really appreciate any advice anyone would have on what a watch lover should visit while in that general area. I've heard that Baselworld is a bit of a letdown, so if anyone has alternative suggestions, I would be very much appreciative of the advice. lhooq
On the way down to Fribourg, you could make a detour to Bienne and go see the Omega Museum. But you'd better like Omegas...
Lobster
Schaffhausen for the IWC Museum. Apparently it's amazing. I will head down there soon myself
chefcook
Schaffhausen is somewhat of the opposite direction towards Zurich... The detour to Biel / Bienne LHOOQ mentioned to visit the Omega Museum is worth the time for. It is only a small detour on the way from Fribourg to Basel. Baselworld is only a letdown if you expect it to be like at an AD where you can try all watches. Baselworld is there to attract the watch industry's customers and those are dealers, not people who buy watches. Go there with a strip club attitude "just watching, no touching" and take everything more than that as a highly appreciated special.
kronos twin
Great advice, friends. I appreciate this. I hope I can take a few more days and catch as many museums as possible.
