sarkazz Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Anybody knows whether the current Aqua Terra reps can be frankened (dial, hands) easily? It's far from being as popular as PO, so I haven't seen any actual project like that, and I think it's a gorgeous watch, and with gen dial and hands and chief's AR it would be awesome ;-) on some brown Hirsch modena strap...
superlative Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 I'm in the midst of putting one together: gen dial and hands with 2892 and Omega rotor.
cougar1 Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 Keep us updated on this project please, very interested to hear that these can be frankened, didn't realise they could be, but should've known the 2500 cal is based on the 2892. What sort of prices are we looking at? Of course the simple black dial version seems to be only available in 2824 from the dealers and not 2892 as the other variations are. The rep is quite a decent copy in itself, of course they messed up the omega logo and the happy feet....couldn't have it any other way with the factories! A quick redial and hand change on these and they would look very good...at least from the front.
cougar1 Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 That looks fantastic, can you keep this thread updated on how it turns out. Also can I ask where are you sourcing the parts from (difficult even to find part nos) as ofrei has nothing as far as my quick look can see and neither do cousinsuk. And now that these watches have been stupidly discontinued by Omega it is probably very difficult to source parts for these.
ryaku Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 As far as I remember Aqua Terra parts are not for sale. I was told so when I contacted some AD's.
LeSentier Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 I have a case set for sale. Check out the trading section. Best, J
superlative Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 I have a case set for sale. Check out the trading section. Best, J Yes, you do. But, you don't know what size of dial your case fits.
superlative Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 My gen dial is 31.5mm. Its for a 39mm case.
cougar1 Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 yes but where are you getting the gen parts? ebay?
superlative Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 Yeah. That one was a lucky find. The seller didn't even know it was a AT dial.
