Advice on vintage sub please

youd have to change a lot on it to be accurate, and those stumpy CGs will never make it appear gen no matter what you do.

at this point in time if i were after a 5513 i might consider PTs 1680 put in a 5513 dial and T19. its already got the slow beat movement, its got CGs you could work with, it accepts 2mm bars and its the same price as the one you linked to here. even the bracelet on PTs is more correct, its jus the coronet on the clasp that is horrendous

I have worked in a few of these new buget subs and i like them for the money a bit of modding and they can look real good, but the stumpy CGs are an issue, i lowered the crown seat on one and it looked better

As the title says I'm thinking of buying this sub from trusty time. http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_7&products_id=7092

Has anyone got one and what are your opinions. I have emailed and had a reply saying it does come with a new gen eta movement. Thank you in advance.

These are my MBWs, but people also talk about cases from Yuki and some other sources too. I put the military style bezel inserts in these just because I like the look on the no date subs.

There are other cases out there that give you more to work with insofar as the crown guards, and they have gen parts interchange capabilities as well. For example, since that first picture was taken, I installed a Clark T-39 Superdome (gen replacement) in the gilt dial version. Also, compare the crown guards on these two to the gen pic that was posted, and then look at the one you are considering.

Whatever case you go with, you won't believe the difference a gen crown will make.

Good luck and welcome to this bunch of addicts!

Bill
