teoulennon
I've done a few searches and couldn't come up with anything on this subject. I've put my name on the list for a bk GMTc but I'm questioning whether the polished part of the bracelet is super prone to scratching and if so what there is I can do about it? Any current owners or ppl with experience care to weigh in?
asf
You could always use Cape Cod rags to buff out the scratches when it gets swirly
freddy333
Ditto above. Polished steel watches alway gets scratched (assuming you wear them).
teoulennon
Thanks for the advice Do you guys think that with general wear the polished part will look significantly more scratched than the non-polished part? If so I'll just go for a sub.. Edited May 13, 2011 by teoulennon
freddy333
Yes, that is exactly the point & why so many prefer vintage Rolex tool watches (mostly brushed finishes) over modern (with ever-increasing polished surface area).
watchguy07
Just brush the bracelet, many gen owners do...
tonio_fr
After having a try through me with the rep one, a friend of mine bougt the gen ceramic. According to him, the gen bracelet is worst than the rep one. When I see his gen bracelet completely schrached, it is a pity for such a nice watch.... If by worse, you mean more scratch prone, it could be that the gen bracelet has a finer mirror polish, which would make even minor scratches extremely noticable. mcotter
Agreed...Polished center links are a royal pain! I rarely wear my gen yachtmaster as the polished links always look scuffed or display fingerprints. Further it's simple to transform polished links into brushed w/ green 3m pad......Regards, mcotter
