Don't pay for waterproofing, good chance nothing extra will be done. The rule of thumb is to just get the watch in your hands, any value-added services you need should be done on your end. The only way to tell if a watch is ready for a swim is to take it to a watch smith and have them test it.

Absolutely agree. No one can tell you if your rep is waterproof. What if your gaskets are ripped or missing? You have to check for yourself.

I just bought a watch which was supposed to be waterproofed from a Trusted Dealer

I had it tested,,,

and it failed

do not pay for waterproofing from dealers

olivax - its very possible you were lucky - and I dont mean lucky you got a waterproof one. I mean you might have a waterproof one, but more likely that you were lucky no water got in!

the only way to know is to pay your local guy to test it - its not that dear to do

Best thing to do is to grease CB & crown Gaskets with silicon grease and then get it tested.

Most of the time gaskets in reps are bone dry...
