s.dupere
I'm planning to order the 177M or 177L. Should I pay for waterproofing? I really like to snorkel with watches...
P4GTR
Don't pay for waterproofing, good chance nothing extra will be done. The rule of thumb is to just get the watch in your hands, any value-added services you need should be done on your end. The only way to tell if a watch is ready for a swim is to take it to a watch smith and have them test it.
Jkay
Absolutely agree. No one can tell you if your rep is waterproof. What if your gaskets are ripped or missing? You have to check for yourself.

Olivax
My Pam177 is waterproof. I had shower with it and swim in the sea. Maybe i got lucky
wat44
olivax - its very possible you were lucky - and I dont mean lucky you got a waterproof one. I mean you might have a waterproof one, but more likely that you were lucky no water got in! the only way to know is to pay your local guy to test it - its not that dear to do
Olivax
I think I'll go to my watchsmith to make a waterproof test.
jynl
Best thing to do is to grease CB & crown Gaskets with silicon grease and then get it tested. Most of the time gaskets in reps are bone dry...
