Going to be replacing movement, one thing has me baffled

So my Orange Monster took a pretty big hit and as a result it is running about 4 seconds fast per min. I opened it up thinking maybe the adjustment got out of place and to my surprise it was where the factory set it. So in attempt to fix it I moved the adjuster all the way to the"-" and no change, still +4 sec. Per min.

I had thought about taking it to a watch smith but the only one I can find has a $50 minimum rate, seeing as I can get a new movement for $45 I figured no time like the present to try and work on it myself. I have all of the tools needed and git the overall steps but the one thing bothering me is the seconds hand. This is a non hacking movement so how do I know when the shaft for the second hand is at 12??

The seconds don't matter for alignment. You just need to have minute and hour hands lined up at the date change (if the movement has a date), if no date it doesn't matter where you line up the hands. Think about it, you can have the hands line up right at the 12:00 marker no matter where the seconds are. 12:00:15, 12:00:30, etc... Just make the hands line up at 12:00, that's all there is to it.

I got started on Seiko 7S26 movements. They're great, so forgiving. Stem removal is really easy, there's a tab you press down, that's it.

One thing to try though (since your movement is borked anyway) let your watch wind all the way down, then whack it nice and hard on a table or something (you want to hit somewhere around 8 o'clock, but this isn't a precision repair). Sometimes one of the coils of the hairspring can get jarred and end up overlapping with another one and you'll have this happen.

I've fixed SKX'es that had this problem in this way before, my success rate is about 50%.
