subbiesrock
Cracked this one open the other day, wasn't very impressed with the French, to be honest. Australian wines are far more robust and flavorsome.

donerix
My mom lives in the South of France during the summer and all the rose wines from there are amazing for a hot day (and really inexpensive). The rest of the year I prefer harder liquor, mainly rum. I live in Nicaragua and the Gran Reserva (7 years) from Flor de Cana is a great and affordable solution, but Zacapa from Guatemala 23 years) is the BEST

HauteHippie
Broke down and bought this a couple months ago. Liquid caramel that lingers on the palate for days, and worth every cent:

subbiesrock
You will NOT be disappointed! I can tell from the colour that it'll taste good... It even looks like caramel. Is it really smoky? I tried some JW Blue Label recently and enjoyed the aroma, but there was this overpowering smokiness that just killed the whole experience for me. Not a fan of blends, I much prefer single malts. This one looks great
HauteHippie
Highland Park is a moderately peated whisky. The 18 year Highland Park has a bit of smoke in the aftertaste, but as far as I can tell that is completely gone in the 30 year. It tastes like a completely different whisky. Maybe there's a very small hint of smoke, but the primary flavor for me is caramel. Along those lines, there is a Bourbon (unpeated) that drinks like a Scotch and has a very buttery toffee flavor as well: Parker's 27 Year Old Heritage Collection. I think you'd like it a lot. It's pretty amazing. That said, I myself am a fan of peaty whisky. Then again, I guess I like almost all single malt whisky. But Lagavulin is one of my favorites. The HP 30 is just in a different class though. It's something very special.
Bike Mike
Typically I am a vodka drinker...Polish Potato Vodka. Lately I have gotten back into Tequilas. Enjoyed a glass of this the other night. Phenomenal! It just evaporates off your tongue.
