Help, Crystal popped out

Need some help. My GMT IIC crystal popped out, I was polishing it, and it slipped out my hand and landed on my desk, darn crystal popped right out. I cannot see anything that holds it in place. , i can drop it right back in , but it just sits there, and will rotate when you turn the bezel, then if you turn the watch over, it drops out. I was under the impression that they had a plastic retention gasket, and the crystal was pressed in place.

Can any of you folks who are handy help me out. I wear the watch, and it is otherwise fine.

thanks very much

You lost the gasket. Look for a thin white plastic thing that's the same size as the crystal.

Your correct, I found it on my desk behind something. Only problem, I don't have the tools to press the crystal back in.I don't want to take a chance and have something slip and mangle the dial/hands.

I will we more than happy to pay someone to get it back together. I know the professional watchmakers here can all do it, but most of them are backlogged, and it will take all summer to get it done and back.

Put the gasket into place in the case, then line up the crystal properly, and lay a T-Shirt over the top. Keeping the T-Shirt tight to the watch, flip it all over onto the desk. Put your thumbs on the caseback, and gently but consistently apply pressure (meaning lean your full weight over and onto your thumbs) and you will hear /feel a 'pop' as the crystal is put back into place :victory:

Thanks for the advice guys. I tried that trick, didn't work, the retaining gasket ring is just too tight,or the crystal is a real press fit!! AlI I managed to do was bugger up one spot on the nylon ring, so I will need someone with more expertise and probably a crystal press to get this one back together as well as a new nylon gasket. I guess I will contact one of the watch makers on the forum and send it off to them. I suppose while I'm at it, i could get them to exchange the cyclops for one with AR coating. I've had one of those for quite a while, but just didn't feel like sending the watch off, but now it looks like I'm going to have to anyway

Thanks again for the help..
