Not many changes but this is the new Co-Axial model, with red lettering. I don't like it on a leather strap.

I don't like the strap (thought it's obviously available without it), I don't like the red Seamaster text, and i don't like the slower beat of the co-axial movement. I do like the slightly larger hour markers.

If i were to have the gen, i'd prefer the old one. As it is, i bought the rep the first day it came out, so i'm a happy bunny anyway.

I guess you're right. The lower beat coaxial isn't my cup of tea, either. But that red Seamaster text is nice to my eye.

Is the seconds hand on the previous version noticeably smoother than the co-axial?

Hmmm - is it a bad pic or has the wavy dial gone. Also, that pearl looks a little shabbily fitted - bringing it closer to the look of the pearl in the new SMP chrono, ironically....

I've compared a Co-Axial PO with a non-co-axial and it's damned smooth, but the beat-rate is noticably slower.

For those ofyou who don't know what we're on about, Asian 21j are 21600vph, Co-Axials are 25200vph and ETA-2836 are 28800vph.

Too much noise-reduction has hidden the wavy pattern. It's there, but unsharp-masked away.
