Hand Painting Technique and gasket source

Aloha All,

#1. I’m in need of a point in the right direction for hand painting.

Not only the technique, but the sequence, tools needed to remove and replace.

#2 I would like to replace the all the gaskets on a Josh 1680 & PT 1665, who do I source these from? What about the gasket underneath the retaining ring?

#3 HE valve on the PT 1665, epoxy or ……….? I’d like to swim with it.

Your comments & guidance are welcomed and appreciated.

Do you mean to completely strip the watch, or just to remove the hands once the case is already removed?

I can't help you with that one... :pardon:

Depends on the internal structure... If it's a functional HE, then you could just leave it as it is, if it's only a cosmetic marking on the midcase, again, you could leave it as is, but if it is a complete cut-through and non-functional, then epoxy is the route many have taken :)

I'm looking for gaskets or gasket kits for the 1680 as well.

The epoxy trick is only good if you have the type of rep HEV that pushes into the watch. If you have the type that pull out of the case(like gen) then grease the oring, or if not present, use GS to slide the tube into the case and let it cure with the proper spring.

Did this in three cases and I can swim, and shower and everything else water related with the watches. No issues.
