2846 movement question

Yes, this a great movement for your build to appear like an old 1570 movement. Like the 1570, this movement beats at 21,600bph. It's also a great workhorse movement. Of course, the tell will be when the crown is unscrewed as it has a quickset date and the 1570 did not. So, it's almost like an upgrade ;-)

just to be clear

the 1570 is a 19,800 bph

the 2846 is 21,600bph as close as you can get to the original

was the seller from the Philippines? i recall recently looking over a 2846 movement that was claimed to be serviced from this seller,

FYI i noticed the rotor screw was missing and the bearing looked corroded in the ebay photos. if this is indeed the same movement you should get that sorted.

Eeek! Highoe, thank you for correcting me. I always forget that the 1570's slightly slower. 5.5/b/sec vs. 6.0b/sec Leave to Rolex to complicate things

As far as the movement goes, you can send it off to a number of modders and get it fixed up. I took the last route and had my modder install a new 2846 that had been torn apart, cleaned, adjusted and regulated by his watchmaker (very talented) and it's keeping COSC time.
