MJC Posted November 11, 2011 Report Posted November 11, 2011 Amazing comparo and review, thanks and congrats
Buddalondon Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 Hi Z, You do write a wicked review!! Top job!!
Mr Z Posted November 20, 2011 Author Report Posted November 20, 2011 finally arrived .. after a little searching ordered white and black rubber strap oem from a forum .. changing it over to the white strap , just makes it look like having a new watch so totally different now .. its very loud now i would say , here a few pics
Watchmeister Posted November 20, 2011 Report Posted November 20, 2011 Wow, absolutely great review. Thanks so much. It is also always interesting to see what jumps out at people. For me it is the date section (deeper and darker font) and the hand tubes - but that is me. The whole color difference would slip right by me unless I had a gen sitting next to it.
robsons Posted November 20, 2011 Report Posted November 20, 2011 Great comparo! This one is really useful! Congrats and Thank You!
Mr Z Posted November 21, 2011 Author Report Posted November 21, 2011 your all really welcome ... glad you liked my compare .. if there is anything else plz ask !!!
greekgod Posted November 21, 2011 Report Posted November 21, 2011 here is a teaser pic .. will upload the rest as soon as i get back !!! gen on the left I cant believe how close the gens are getting to the reps
Mr Z Posted November 21, 2011 Author Report Posted November 21, 2011 yes scary very close .. if they update the small flaws then ... bingo would be amazing rep even thous its pretty much on the money as it is !!!
robsons Posted November 21, 2011 Report Posted November 21, 2011 I do not want to offend the gen owners and for sure do not want to offend you, zorrolondon, but: What i can see from the pictures, the rep is more beautiful to my eyes than the gen (colorwise, contrast, ...) Best regards, Robert!
Mr Z Posted November 21, 2011 Author Report Posted November 21, 2011 hi not at all ... everybodys has the own opinion and yes i do agree its much more colourful .. thats why im keeping both !! much more brighter
Mr Z Posted November 21, 2011 Author Report Posted November 21, 2011 rocking it without blue shirt or white suit lol
DD GT3 RD Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 (edited) You manage to pull off the white band somehow. But when I first saw it above with the white strap I thought this guy must be gay (no offense intented, as I have many gay friends). Seeing it on you it works and its not feminine, but in the pics I couldnt imagine wearing it. The womens ap roo comes on a white rubber strap. Congrats on getting both, I just did this with my safari (rep then authentic). Edited November 25, 2011 by DD GT3 RD
GreenHornet Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 As much as I love the Montauk, no way would I ever wear a white band with it. Just my own personal taste. I love the gen hornback and the HKTAN hornbacks so much better. The only thing I have that's white are shirts and socks.......... I don't even do white undies!

I think its the dark contrast with the light ... that makes it work so well .... hence me pulling it off .... you don't have to be gay to wear a white strapped watch as ive demonstrated thanks .. do u still wear ur rep ?

dmacnz Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 Love this watch. But $500 for a rep. Still can't do it! Is Toro still the sole dealer?
GreenHornet Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 Love this watch. But $500 for a rep. Still can't do it! Is Toro still the sole dealer? Yes, Toro is the only dealer with the Montauk.
Watchmeister Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 No point in getting a white strap in my house. I am just not one of those swinging single guys who can pull it off and more importantly I would never see it again the minute my wife saw the white strap.
Mr Z Posted November 25, 2011 Author Report Posted November 25, 2011 looks fantastic with the white strap and the Hermes belt! thanks ..i think next time ill try it with the light blue H belt ..accent with the blue in the watch !!
