312L -7750 Movement-servicing necessary when you buy?

After reading Wheaton's excellent photo review of the PAM 312L. I've been thinking about getting one (currently available from Josh for $228). Read a post from a few years back that recommended that you pay extra to have the watch "serviced"--make sure the watch has been properly oiled etc.)

1. Do you still recommend that I have this done by Josh?

2. Does anyone make a good 312 rep with a swiss ETA?

1. not recommended that you choose to buy this service from the dealers. get a good watchmaker to do this for you. local or one from this forum.

the dealers wont do it properly, if anything at all.

I have a DSN 229 with an A7750 , 3 years old runs like a champ never been serviced , had a few other A7750 they are good movements dont worry bout it until you need to . cheaper to buy a new one than pay for service

The 312L does not have a chrono hand so you can bet that the 7750 on it won't breakdown. So buy it with aplomb.

You cannot fit a swiss ETA movement into it.

I would hold off the servicing till it breaks!

Yep- why go looking for problems. Those 7750 tend to work well. My 359 feels really

smooth. "If it aint broke, don't fix it".
