Yangui
Hey guys, I recently bought the new PAM88i from Joshua. At first the watch looks gorgeous. And it draws attention like no other (63, 29, ...). After a few days of wearing, the crystal showed some minor scratches. I asked Josh about that and he couldn't explain how it would happen with a sapphire crystal. I had to send it back to get it fixed. Also the GMT movement seems a little bit unreliable as the GMT hand is aligned when setting time (by steps like original) but after a few hours the hand seems to loose sync with hour hand. Did it ever happen to you? Thanks, Y Edited January 14, 2012 by Yangui
lfovco
The only time I have seen crystal scratched was on a watch that had a meeting with a diamond ring, my friend's Genuine Pam. And that was not nearly as bad as yours but barely visible hairline. To me it looks like a scratch on a synthetic sapphire.
relaxman
Whacked my 88 on a door frame or two since I've owned it and the only thing that failed was the paint on the door frame. What happened to yours is very odd... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
mikellem
That crystal has to be defective! There is no other way??? Those are deep gashes! This is not a sapphire crystal, somehow a chapter crystal jumped in the watch instead of sapphire Thats not fun for you!! MM
Yangui
Yes it is badly damaged. I never saw that with any other watch so far ... And what about your movement reliablility? Does the GMT hand stays in sync with hour hands?
fotoman
Doood did you tie it to your car and drive down the freeway? Do we have to go back to is your crystal hot or cold in the morning tests?
nix
I've had three 088 I's and all three had defective movements. The first was gritty when setting the time and would "pop" when you tried to wind it. The second was just FUBAR.. missing hands all sorts of bad stuff. Third one has low PR and the reversing wheel is messed up. I gave up and just kept it.. sent it to a watchsmith. It keeps decent time, though. Yangui
Hi Nix, Are all the A7750 with GMT crappy movements? I mean i have the ultimate PAM252 North Pole (which is still with Domi for mods) and it didn't seem to have this kind of problem, as far as I recall it ... I've had an old Ultimate 088 and I've worked on an old Ultimate 252 (and a DSN GMT watch) and all had wonderful A7750 GMT movements. However, It seems to me that the batch of A7750 GMT movements used by the H-Factory lately are pretty crap. Edited January 15, 2012 by nix
