  1. Yes it happened on 2 of mine... The paint is somehow very fragile.
  2. I tried to order the GMT Chrono in white or panda dial a few months ago but none are available anymore from any trusted dealers. Maybe a second hand is a better choice, provided you find one ...
  3. Ok just noticed Zigmeister deleted all his posts ... I just don't understand ... Why does it have to degenerate like this? Domi did a poor job on this, Zig brought his expertise on the matter. I feel very sorry to have this thread gone as a flame to anyone, especially when trying to help me.
  4. Why say that? It wasn't meant as a criticism at all ...
  5. Oh my Buddha! And you sell this one already?!
  6. Wow I missed a few posts here. As a matter of fact the watch is still with Domi. He ordered a replacement dial but was delivered a black one instead of cobalt blue. So he ordered another one. To be honest this relume job is pretty crappy and I posted this thread to be sure my eyes weren't (noob) fooling me. Zeigmeister just got a bit carried over when talking about fixing the dial and I'm sure he knows perfectly what can be done. Mainly the lume was spilled over the dial and if i understand well it's a bit corrosive. However, considering Domi's reputation I thought he might have had a bad moment when doing this. Nobody's perfect. So I let him do the rest of the mods (CG replacement, rotating bezel fix, pinion mod) to have a clear picture of how he manages the job. I just don't like to condemn someone based solely on one weakness. I will post the result when I get it back, soon I hope.
  7. Hi Nix, Are all the A7750 with GMT crappy movements? I mean i have the ultimate PAM252 North Pole (which is still with Domi for mods) and it didn't seem to have this kind of problem, as far as I recall it ...
  8. Yes it is badly damaged. I never saw that with any other watch so far ... And what about your movement reliablility? Does the GMT hand stays in sync with hour hands?
  9. Hey guys, I recently bought the new PAM88i from Joshua. At first the watch looks gorgeous. And it draws attention like no other (63, 29, ...). After a few days of wearing, the crystal showed some minor scratches. I asked Josh about that and he couldn't explain how it would happen with a sapphire crystal. I had to send it back to get it fixed. Also the GMT movement seems a little bit unreliable as the GMT hand is aligned when setting time (by steps like original) but after a few hours the hand seems to loose sync with hour hand. Did it ever happen to you? Thanks, Y
  10. Received all the parts last week ...
  11. It seems CousinsUK still have them : ETA2890242H290.
  12. Ordering just the dial from Hfactory sounds mission impossible to me...
  13. Is it an insult? Google gives a strange translation here ... Domi offered me to order a new dial to replace this one. I can't blame him for making an error. He is still a trusted modder concerning mechanical job, isn't he?
  14. Yes i would have sent the watch to Zigmeister too but the risk of customs is too high. I was just caught by french customs few days ago and have to pay a 300€ fine for another PAM.
  15. Hmm editing my post didn't work ...
  16. By the way you are right too about starting a flame war here, I removed my comment. I don't want to ruin Domi's reputation, nor to deny his willing to do best. I was just really upset about the situation.
  17. Thanks Zig, the job was done yesterday, does it change anything? What is the best to do now to minimize the damage?
  18. The dial is permanently damaged?!! How is this possible to rave about Domi's work like I read many times on this forum? I just can't believe it! Domi told me he used only TriTec Superluminova. Is there someone who can talk to Domi in german, because dialog is quite hard with him in english ... I just asked Domi to participate to this thread.
  19. Thanks for summing it up. As a matter of fact I was very reluctant at criticizing the job of one of our resident modder here. I thought maybe it was a 2 stage process and it wasn't finished. Domi charges 100€ for this. Now what can I do? Is it possible to clean it and fix it? Thanks, Y.
  20. Hi guys, I'm no expert here so, what do you think of this relume job : I'm mixed opinion especially on the 12 marker ... It's a work in progress by Domi, our resident modder. Y.
  21. Your 1000€ fine was for another watch in the mail? Gasp! Was it a sort of recidivist fine ?
  22. My dilemna is Joshua tells me to blame it on someone in this forum who would have sent me a gift which is a fake watch ... Did someone ever do that? Joshua insists that I should do that. But he also said there was no problem when I reported the watch had been stopped by customs...
  23. Don't count on that. French customs have found the deal and now I don't see them stopping controls just before Christmas time ... These guys are really good ... when they are willing to!
  24. Hi Ryan, Joshua would send another watch but I won't take the risk to get caught a second time. The problem is that french customs have been doing these controls randomly since this summer. I had one watch passed without a glitch but this time ... well! Furthemore Joshua couldn't provide any past experience of someone denying being the owner of the contrefeited goods. I guess I will take my chance at paying the fine, because otherwise it could lead to something much more painful for me ... That sucks big time!
